OUR HISTORY

The Municipal Employees Association, Technical Services Unit of Beverly Hills was founded in 1995 by Greg Gomez, John Harvey, Virgia Randall and John Avila. MEA originally was associated and represented by SEIU before breaking away, as members felt the needs of the employees of the City of Beverly Hills were not adequately being represented. The MEA later advocated benefits, rights and workplace conditions for part time employees and aggregated the Part-Time Unit in July of 1997. Isoke Muhsin who was instrumental in getting the part-time employees included in the MEA is still serving as a steward today.
